2009 is the year of “go out and get it”! So those of you who take your internet plan seriously, get going. I reviewed my bookmarks, and this is a power list of the most accessible and helpful content I’ve come across in the last few months. I’ve implemented most of it, and it’s done me a world of good. Go get at it, and do some of this yourself! If you’re marketing your business online, you need to read each of these.
- 9 SEO Plugins Every Wordpress Blog Should Have: Problogger is an excellent resource for anyone serious about blogging. This is a great example of easy to digest content that you can immediately implement to improve your blog.
- 16 Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Blog: Here are 16 easy to implement ways to get more traffic to your site.
- How to get traffic for your blog (56 ways): Seth Godin is a mogul. If you don’t know who he is, his blog is a great way to get introduced to his ideas. Here is a list that will spark your creativity.
- The 25 Basic Styles of Blogging … And When To Use Each One: Sometimes, you just don’t know what to write about. Blogging can be intimidating like that. But if there’s anything that’s essential to blogging success, it’s consistent relevant content. This piece has been helpful to me more than once.
- A 20-Step Process For Finding Your 1,000 True Fans: Knowing your true target market is key. This article introduces a great way of building your network.
- 101 Great Posting Ideas That Will Make Your Blog Sizzle: Great post on keeping the content flowing.
- 21 Tactics to Increase Blog Traffic: This is another article I found a while back, much of which I’ve implemented. SEOmoz is a great resource in general. It can get a little technical at times, but if you are the type to embrace SEO tactics head on, it’s a great site to subscribe.
- How to Create Easy Audio Content for Your Blog: Audio is one thing I’ve not implemented yet, but I honestly think it, along with video, are a huge part of the way blogging is going.
- Top 35 Real Estate Blogs: Since so many of you are involved in real estate, this is a great list of real estate blogs that are out there making it happen. It’s great to see real estate bloggers out there getting big traffic and huge results from their efforts. Check them out. Compare it to what you’re doing.
- 59 Things You Should Be Doing But Probably Aren’t: This is a great list of things you should do to your site in general. I guarantee there are items on this list that will make you smack your forehead.
- Mobilize your blog now: Making your site accessible to mobile browsers is smart. This is another one I haven’t done yet, but it’s on the list.
- 25 Free SEO Add-ons for Drupal, Joomla and Wordpress: WordPress is my platform of choice of course, but if you’re doing this yourself, you should know there are many opensource solutions for building your site. Drupal and Joomla being two very popular ones, and for good reason. This is a good resource for making these all maximized in the SEO department.
As I’ve mentioned before, building and maintaining your online presence is essential in today’s marketplace. I hope you find a lot of value in this list of resources. I know I’ve bookmarked them and consulted them a number of times each. I figured if they’ve been that helpful to me, I should share them here as well.
